Who we are
I’m Jo Watkinson and I own and run The Dandelion Bakery. I am a Yorkshire girl, although I moved to Watford in 2006 because of Mr Dandelion Bakery. I have been baking for as long as I can remember, in fact, some of my earliest memories are baking in the kitchen with my Mum.
I love baking and it’s always been part of my life, but I always thought I had to have a “proper job” so I studied Law at university before moving into legal publishing, then project management of websites and large IT projects. However, I clearly wasn’t happy and Mr Dandelion Bakery asked me what I would do, if I could do anything at all. After I had talked for about an hour about having a bakery, he pointed out that maybe I should do it (possibly just to shut me up!) and so The Dandelion Bakery was born.
I like cake, Yorkshire tea, swimming outdoors, chick lit novels, Pinot Noir, Christmas movies, white roses, watching all sport except golf, sequins, all things triathlon, firm pillows, fiddling with almost anything I’m holding, and borrowing other people’s babies for a cuddle them handing them back without having to change a nappy.
I don’t like cats (I’m allergic!), marmite, tequila, scary movies, ironing, being tired or hungry, sand on my feet, having a dodgy knee and anything with spaceships.
If you see this woman, stop her to talk about cake.
