A beautiful floral gluten free wedding cake
I recently had the pleasure of making an entirely gluten free wedding cake for Louise and George, who were getting married at Micklefield Hall. It's a lovely venue, with a light and airy barn and the space was beautifully decorated with large floral centrepieces.
This is a modern, elegant barn wedding that made great use of the light and the textures of the barn. To match that, I made a 4 tier ivory buttercream cake with a clean, horizontal textured finish. The cake was then decorated with large statements flowers to match the centrepieces provided by the wonderful Andrew Fleming Florist. The flowers were arranged in a structural, central display, rather than decorating the tiers of the cake to keep the whole feel of the cake very chic and modern.
Oh, and the whole thing was gluten free. The couple chose red velvet with cream cheese frosting, white chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream finish, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
